Located on Queen Elizabeth Terrace, at the southern shore of Lake Burley Griffin, next to Questacon.

Costs
There is no charge for admission into the exhibition for families or school groups, courtesy of Raytheon.

School Groups are Welcome
The exhibition is appropriate for kids ages 7-14 with families or in school groups. Attendants will be in the exhibition to help. Admission for school groups to the exhibition is free (parking fees apply if using the parking lot adjacent to Questacon).

Open Hours
MathsAlive! is open for school groups, families and the public 9:00 am – 5:00 pm daily (closed Christmas Day). The exhibition will be open until 9.00pm in March (closes at 5.00 on 17 March).

General Information to Plan Your Group Visit

  • It is recommended that school groups provide one adult (chaperone, 18 years or older) for every 10 students. (Adult chaperones are responsible for group members and must take an active role in supervision at all times.)
  • School group visits are self-directed (although attendants will be available in the exhibit).
  • School group visits are typically 30-60 minutes. (Groups can completely experience the exhibition in 30 minutes.)
  • There are no accommodations inside the gallery for school groups that bring lunches.
  • Teachers can access a Teacher’s Reference Guide and a Teacher’s Activity Guide on the Teacher’s page of this website.
  • No open food or drink is to be brought into the East Space gallery.
  • Belongings must be left on the coach/bus (if possible) or in a tub provided by the school.
  • Attendants will be on-site whenever the exhibition is open.
  • There are public toilets at the East Space gallery.
  • The exhibition is wheelchair accessible.

Parking
Paid parking is available alongside Questacon, accessible from Parkes Place, with additional parking further along Parkes Place in the large car park near the lake.

The smaller car park adjacent to Questacon contains only 4 hour parking. The larger car park (further down Parkes Place West) contains 4 hour parking (in the first two rows) and all day parking in the remaining rows.

School Buses
There are drop-off and pick-up zones for school and group buses along Queen Elizabeth Terrace, as well as on East Mall Road in front of Questacon. Parking zones are available in front of the Questacon building, adjacent to the Library.
